Happy Valentine’s Day!

happy valentines day

A Great Love Song entitled So Close:

One of my favorite love songs:

Night and day, you are the one
Only you ‘neath the moon or under the sun
Whether near to me or far, It’s no matter, darling, where you are
I think of you day and night

May this year 2013

BE your year to learn to love, to love, be loved and renew your love!
Love isn’t perfect and the one you love isn’t perfect and you/I aren’t perfect

BUT we keep moving forward to make it work.

The poem below is the poem I wrote for my husband on our 40th Anniversary Sept 2012.

No holds barred imperfection and all.

Happy 40th Anniversary

Some would say
that loving is just a
piece of heaven
or maybe
somewhere between
here and there
the entrance
to the musical ladder of rainbow colors
or maybe
between earth and that far off gal-axy
in the midst of a whisper or a breathe
can this be true?
i must believe the unbelievable truth
forever we could be, in love, eternally
inspired by a miracle
Magnetic

Your grin
your confident athletic stride
across that classroom
caught my heart by surprise
incredible
bending down
to spin the bottle
pick me! yes me! just once!
eye to eye
a glimpse of your glassy sea of love
hair locks of black ,brush mine
hush! time suspended
 i close my eyes
As your lips touch my cheek

All my prayers answered
in that moment
when into my life he came
 for he was heaven sent,
 i believe in our love
too young to know your
olympian prowess
radiance
wanting, needing
carefree
compassion in your embrace
tender moments
your mouth invite kisses
forever changed
love flowed amidst
the vigor of a gazelle
and the courageous lioness
 n’er a gentler man
than this
caress of my brow
Your whispers

Let’s go for a ride
it’s such a warm evening
climbing into car
top down
your left hand on the wheel
my head on your shoulder
your arm on mine
my right hand catching the wind
to locking my fingers in yours
our hair tangled
many joyous tears flowed free
stopping the car jumping out
let’s dance in the rain
doesn’t matter
hold me tight
don’t let me go
noble steed was he
as his arm slowly stroke my back
pulled me close
precious moments were these
it’s gonna be
A beautiful night tonight

At lover’s lane
captivated by his charm
as he sang to me
it is your strength i see, as you sing
you’ve opened a window to heaven’s light
my love for you will burn so bright
the night is young let’s swim
under this blanket of stars
refreshed
gathering driftwood to build a fire
your face shimmering in its blaze
enchanted
as i sit here on the beach
my normal life seems so out of reach
the waves hitting the sand
flankers fly while you hold my hand
passion has seized my soul
ecstasy
all is quiet now
Only the ebb and flow of your breath

This is more
than picture perfect
it’s real
where naive love’s caress
and angels’ wings
 meet hallelujah
young love,
better than wine
unaware of ancient bliss
where once a vacant lot
 brokenness,
now a captivated heart
horizon clear,
hands turned fast
one, two, three, four,
fashioned by love
times are hard
but get back up
your strength i make my own
for our future’s
Progeny

We forgot how to play
no, we’ve lost our way
bitter words
regret
let’s practise once more
into the depth
it shone again
savor love, love is beautiful
even at the end of your shift
at 4 am
tender touch
soft kiss on my cheek
snuggle in, warm my feet
tired, troubled
and how sweet magic returns
tender touch, lips sweet, fulfillment
 luminous door to the devine
our past came to kiss us here
wonderment, his voice, complete
Wholeness

But what about when I get old
will you still love me
on the ‘morrow?
yea or née ’tis yea said i
oh love that wilt not let me go
love ’till evening fades
and dawn breaks
in another land
where happiness and love
fill an ocean eternal
who said?
there was ne’er a fountain of youth
ah we are sitting
at its feet
close to apple blossom flowers
With continuous ‘I Love You’!

Vampire Maman writes a great blog from the perspective of being a vampire…a medium through which she delivers great wisdom for parenting.
Juliette aka Vampire Maman is (the fictional vampire mom). Her blog using her imagination provides a safe place for information about parenting and all sorts of other juicy stuff.

Rachelle Gardner is an agent with Books and Such Literary Agency, representing both fiction and non-fiction. She’s looking for mainstream commercial projects for both the Christian and general market. A great blog for potential authors.

Dr. Niamh Clune is the author of the Skyla McFee series: Orange Petals in a Storm, and Exaltation of a Rose. Recently, Niamh produced an anthology of happy and sad stories from childhood: Every Child is Entitled to Innocence. The proceeds of this book go to Child Helpline International. She is the founder of Plum Tree Books a great blogger and a singer/songwriter.

Susie Bertie another of my favorite poets. Susie’s poetry is unique!

Instructions:

For those of you who wish to participate further, these are the rules I have been instructed to pass on… (I hope you don’t mind this part!)

1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award
2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.
3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award’

http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/

and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)
4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them
5 You can now also join our Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience
6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…
Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!
Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!
When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!
There are a total of 6 stars to collect.
Which means that you can check out your favourite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!

I’M HOPING TO HAVE FUN UNWRAPPING THE MYSTERY OF 2013!

my birthday gift

I will endeavor NOT to hurt the ones I love. Sometimes decisions do not have a blanket approval But I will do my best to honor the creator and honor you while maintaining an honorable self.

We have a memory together. They are not all perfect but a cherished memory nonetheless.

I am so blessed and happy in spite of the bumps in the road.

My Road is paved with roses and love.
I WILL TRY TO LIVE WITHOUT REGRETS.

Here is one of my poems from 2012

pearls
string of pearls

dark
it all came crashing down
under my feet the ground
gave way,
did i hear spurgeon’s voice
look! see
it’s a silvery strand of faith
akin to the strand by silver strand
woven by the spider
its spin of splenderous sheen,

faith feels for certain
what cannot be seen
such a splendid thing,

it’s the thread
upon which the pearls
of the grace are hung
it has always
held the graces not the voices
of vice and depravity,

graces of such pristine value
as dancers through the day
with graceful artistic expression
with elegant hand position
pirouette return to
finish in arabesque
strength and poise
of tip toe in ballet pointe
adagio the slow enfolding
artistic movements
spotting and spinning with
balance
such grace
how the magic flows,

far beyond such majesty
is the pearls upon the silver
strand of faith
graces of gemstone value
love, joy and peace
and the impact so rare of
patience, kindness
nacreous of goodness
refections of
gentleness and self control
and of course your
irridencence display
of faithfulness
when you
stand by me in spite
of time and trouble,

i know i’m truly blessed
because
you
graced me with your graces
in truest
rhapsody…©

Thank you for your giving into my life. Thank you for those who poured into my life.

I am grateful and I too think to myself what a wonderful world.

Louis Armstrong  Video…

I am grateful for the smiles of love.
I am so grateful I feel love, know love and I want to give it away.
Will you help me do this one thing?

Positive or Negative

why it’s the frown
a mighty negative down
multiple muscle use
spread it’s
negative even now
can you feel
it’s nasty supression

mirror neurons
spread its joy
with every smile
can’t you feel
such positive affect
every time
with great compassion
such love

set in stone
memories cannot change
but our future
not made known
so let’s make
it happen in every zone ©

WHAT IF THERE ARE DISAPPOINTMENTS?

Let’s not kid ourselves
We live in a non perfect world and we will have disappointments.

As much as it pleases God to bless you, there will be moments when everything you try goes up in smoke. There will be moments when the one you counted on most walks away and leaves you groping through blinding tears and wailing questions of why. Plans and goals can be circumvented by the most disappointing of times, leaving you learning the art of patience and the acceptance of a denied request. TD Jakes

May I express my gratitude that you are here right now.

Love, Love, Love…

Thanks for reading my bLoG!

I cannot go without mentioning one of the reasons why I am on this earth!

Stop Abuse! I want to see an end to Abuse!

Martina McBride – Concrete Angel Video

I hope that I can learn the art of marketing while promoting my book in grace because I genuinely believe it is worthwhile and helpful to those who suffer abuse, those who never suffered abuse, those who would like to educate themselves, and of course for those who may or may not have friends who suffer.

It is available on all Amazon sites around the world, Barnes and Noble, Chapters Indigo. Available in paperback or ebooks for kindle or kobo. If you click the book cover below it will direct you to one of the amazon sites.Beverley Hoyles CVR and spine

Day 11  of my 30 Day Thankfulness Challenge; I am thankful for Friends. 😀

Real friends stay after seeing your weakness, mistakes, successes, achievements.  They stay near when your world crumbles beneath your feet.  Giving you breathing room to grieve then steps in at the right time to give more comforting hugs. They share in your joys and is the loudest clapper.

A friend loves at all times.  They aren’t afraid to say; No that’s not right now smarten up or that was fabulous.  Friends by their support and commitment like the title of the song ” you raise me up to more than I can be”.

I had 3 really close friends when I was a teen though the provinces and time has kept us from being within visiting opportunities I still value their friendship.  I love them dearly.

Even in these past few years I have gained friends in the oddest of ways including Facebook.  Yes I realize we can’t get to know each other in the perfect sense but we have a camaraderie at its best via internet, Skype and chat.  They have stepped in at a very poignant moment to encourage me.

Since 2002 I have been on a clear path of going forward but circumstance foundered somewhat just recently but some would dare to hold out their hand to comfort, encourage and uplift.

When you have friends you have the ultimate.

Friends often come via creation. Animals and birds have a tendency to stay close.  For that I am grateful.

OF course my husband is my best friend and he is the most committed of friends.  I thank God for him.

My children have been a blessing as friends as well and for that I am eternally grateful.

When you have friends it feels like home.

Pertinent Quotes:

Proverbs 27:9 “The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense.”

“Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art… It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.” ~ C.S Lewis

“Is any pleasure on earth as great as a circle of Christian friends by a good fire?” ~ C.S Lewis

“The next best thing to being wise oneself is to live in a circle of those who are.” ~ C.S Lewis

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

Good friends are like Stars, you don’t always see them, but you know they are always there.

Song of Sahel

Looking out from my bedroom at our cottage on the lake; It was a beautiful sunny day, blue skies and white fluffy clouds; the making of a poet’s dream.

I could hear the soft musical lap of the water against the shore while the wind teased the wild flowers.

That day I was writing my submission for Song of Sahel (SOS).

Mic Mac Lake

From my Window!

Sahel, a stark contrast to where I was sitting!

Sahel

such a stunning name

the ‘edge’ of the Sahara

the belt of Africa

dry heat, flat terrain

lofty sand dunes

and mountains

land of gold and amber

one thing remains

inveterate drought

famine and urgent need

oh Sahel…

***

Yesterday I was asked for my perspective on my decision to get involved with the Song of Sahel (SOS). I got involved with the Song of Sahel not only as a member of Plum Tree Group but because I felt a deep sense of compassion for the plight of the children in Sahel. I have always had an innate desire to do what I can for children whether they are here in my homeland or in the Sahel.

The present drought and subsequent tragedies in the Sahel requires immediate action to make a difference to a seeming impossibility.

DiAnne Ebejer another member of Plum Tree Group, said that Over 15 million people are directly affected by drought, food shortages and malnutrition. Last year over 600,000 children under the age of five lost their lives here and are facing an even bigger crisis in the coming year.

Dr. Naimh Clune founder and CEO of Plum Tree books placed a call for submissions and join Song of Sahel (SOS); which would raise awareness and the potential to raise funds.

I join with Dr. Naimh Clune in this call To Join Us with your submissions.

Plum Tree Books, a new on-line Internet Publishing Company, sent out this call to artists, poets, musicians, writers and photographers to send in submissions for Song Of Sahel (SOS). Dr. Naimh Clune said, “The project aims to bring creative voices together from across the world to participate in an on-line event hosted on 15th September.”

There is an incredible response of poems, songs, story, photographs, art and music being donated to raise funds and awareness for the crisis facing Sahel.

There is still time – Deadline for Submissions will be August 15, 2012

As Dr.Naimh Clune explained the Song of Sahel, an anthology of poetry, fiction, music, art and photography, will be launched worldwide on September 15, 2012 on Facebook.

The Song of Sahel will be published by Plum Tree Books.

It will be a Multi-Media Kindle and available on Amazon.com

The proceeds of the sales will go to SOS Sahel, an NGO working in the Sahel region of Africa.

On the Plum Tree Dr Naimh Clune has written a compelling blog entitled  “A Song Of Sahel SOS: How Do We Show Solidarity?”

She asked many burning questions. It was rather gripping when I read her words,  ” How do we show solidarity for mothers, too weak in themselves to bury a child. The hungry desert claims tiny carcasses.”

Please go the link below to see all the details written by Dr. Naimh Clune
