ATTITUDE

With the help of Wikipedia:
An attitude is a favorable or an unfavorable evaluation of something. Attitudes are generally positive or negative views of a person, place, thing, or event— this is often referred to as the attitude object. People can also be conflicted or ambivalent toward an object, meaning that they simultaneously possess both positive and negative attitudes toward the item in question.

What we think is as important as what we do

Not only are words and action important by law, relational, emotional etc, but so are y/our thoughts. We are taught that holding a grudge or wishing someone harm is just as bad as hurting them. This is because what we think inspires what we do. Negative self-talk can have devastating effects on y/our selfesteem as well.

Matthew another cool guy, made a very important point – But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the person. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

Clearly y/our attitude is much deeper than just a few thoughts you might think or not think. Your attitude comes out of the core of your being. Y/our attitude represents y/our disposition, y/our outlook, y/our very character.  So I gues we better make sure that what is in y/our heart are good things hey.

Attitude

We can choose what attitude we will embrace for today.

I recently met a 78 year old man who was quite upset about a decision made by government that affected him. It wasn’t long before he ranted and raved about his hatred for different ethnic peoples using threats and words of violence and potential death threats. Suffice it to say I was perturbed, appalled by such blatant display of hatred. My mind was reeling from the exposure of hatred. It took some time for to become calm again and detox my mind and turn towards a more positive attitude.

Some people think that the whole world stinks. Once a cranky grandpa laid down to take a nap. To have a little fun, his grandson put some limburger cheese on his mustache, right under his nose. Grandpa awoke with a snort, staggered out of the bedroom and shouted, “This room stinks!” On through the house he went, shouting louder, “This whole house stinks!” He charged out on the porch and shouted as loud as he could, “The whole world stinks!” The truth is, it was grandpa who stunk. The problem was right under his own nose.
“We are a culture that relies on technology over community, a society in which spoken and written words are cheap, easy to come by, and excessive. Our culture says anything goes; fear of God is almost unheard of. We are slow to listen, quick to speak, and quick to become angry.”
— Francis Chan (Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God)

With that quote in mind; attitude and subsequent actions are so very important.

Positive and Grateful attitude can determine how you live your life.

A Proverb “For as a man thinks in his heart, so he is…”
What a difference your attitude makes! Your attitude affects every relationship in your life. And sometimes relationships will never get started in the first place — because many times your attitude has built up walls… making it difficult for people to be around you.

Tips to a Good Attitude!

• Be calm – Meditate/ calm your thoughts
• Believe the best about everyone
• Be a-Warm-Smiling -Smile
• Be thankful
• Be happy – think happy thoughts
• Be Kind – Don’t Gossip
• Be Positive – any old fish can be negative. Helps self esteem

Is it possible that attitude can:
• MAKE OR BREAK YOU
• HEAL OR HURT YOU
• MAKE YOU FRIENDS OR MAKE YOU ENEMIES
• MAKE YOU HAPPY OR MAKE YOU MISERABLE
• MAKE YOU A SUCCESS OR MAKE YOU A FAILURE

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude… I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.

And so it is with you/I… we are in charge of our attitudes.

Another Story

The story is told of a wonderful, elderly lady. She had very little money and lived in a rundown house, but she was always praising the God. Her only problem was with the old man who lived next door. He was always trying to prove to her that there was no God. One day, as the old man was walking by her house, he noticed the woman through an open window. She was kneeling down in prayer, so he crept over to the window to see if he could hear. She was praying, ” God, you’ve always given me what I’ve needed.” She prayed. “And now you know that I don’t have any money, and I’m completely out of groceries, and I won’t get another check for a week.” She continued, “somehow, Lord, can you get me some groceries.” The man had heard all he needed. He crept away from the window and ran down to the grocery store. He bought milk, bread, and lunch meat. He ran back to the woman’s house carrying the groceries. He set the bag down on by her door, rang the doorbell, and hid beside of the house. You can imagine how the woman reacted to seeing the bag of groceries. She threw her hands over head and began praising God.  “Thank you,” she shouted. “I was without food and you provided the groceries.” About that time the old man jumped out and said, “I’ve got you now.” She was too busy shouting thank yous to pay any attention. “I told you there was no God,” the old man said, ” it wasn’t God who gave you those groceries it was me.” “Oh no,” the woman said. “God got me these goroceries and made the devil pay for them.” She had the right attitude for God albeit a little strange toward her neighbor.

That’s what friends are for – it may sound too idyllic…but we should aspire to be good friends..that is a part of a good attitude.

Song “That’s What Freinds for Sure”

Alexander Tsiaras: Conception to birth — visualized

As much as you think you are alone so often; I beg to differ!

*

I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in his hands

I have a Father
He calls me His own
He’ll never leave me
No matter where I go

He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And He hears me when I call
*

*
Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning
Who told the ocean you an only come this far?
Who showed the moon where to hide ’til evening
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?

Well I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
All of creation testify
This life within me cries
I know my Redeemer lives

The very same God that spins things in orbit
He runs to the weary, the worn and the weak
And the same gentle hands that hold me when I’m broken
They conquered death to bring me victory

Now I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redemer lives
Let all creation testify
Let this life wihtin me cry
I know my Redeemer, He lives

To take away my shame
And He lives forever I’ll proclaim
That the payment for my sin
Was the precious life He gave
But now He’s alive
And there’s an empty grave.

And I know my Redeemer, He lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creation testify
This life within me cries
I know my Redeemer lives

X is for Xylitol and the X Factor!

Xylitol is a sugar alcohol sweetener used as a sugar substitute. Xylitol is a tooth friendly sugar and is roughly as sweet as sucrose with 33% fewer calories. Unlike other sweeteners, xylitol is actively beneficial for dental health, reducing caries to a third in regular use, and has been shown to reduce the incidence of acute middle ear infection. Xylitol also inhibits the growth of Streptococcus pneumoniae, as well as the attachment of Haemophilus influenzae on the nasopharyngeal cells.

Xylitol is a naturally occurring sugar alcohol sweetener used as a sugar substitute. Pure Xylitol is a white crystalline substance that looks and tastes like sugar. It is a naturally occurring 5-carbon sugar alcohol found in many fruits and vegetables. Xylitol is also produced naturally in our bodies from the foods we eat. Our bodies produce up to 15 grams of Xylitol from other food sources using established energy pathways. Xylitol is not a strange or artificial substance, but a normal part of everyday metabolism!

Xylotiol has the x factor in benefits…

X Factor; no not the show, but the extra [that’s it] factor/benefits.

The X Factor is that special something that is kinda unspoken and something that you just give off. Some say it’s an energy. Other’s say it’s the spirit/aura of God. I think all people give off an energy or a vibe and I think all other people can sense that.

It’s not like we are puppets but there are things you/I can do to control y/our energy. It’s the focusing on the negative or positive things in your life.

Some would say – Who wants to be around people who are negative, complain a lot, or have nothing good to say? In fact, many would run a mile when they see them coming.

Instead, be the kind of upbeat person who lights up a room with your energy when you enter it. Do it by looking for the best in people and things. Smile warmly, spread good cheer, and enliven others with your presence. Now I didn’t say it is easy but the more in tune with your own self and the creator I believe the easier it will become. I would like to say however that this does not negate the moments of serious conversation and exploring weighty situations.  We all must make time to talk things through with a confident or spouse.

I feel that a person with the X Factor is a person of integrity and values that he or she will never compromise. He or she is a great family man or woman who puts their family first and would protect them with their own life.

A person with the X Factor is really a champion in this world. Sometimes a silent strength other times vocal. A champion that can achieve a difficult goal or overcome challenging obstacles.
A champion is a person that gets up even when they can’t. How you say? With the strength of God the creator who gives all things liberally.

helping hand

A person with the X Factor gets involved and is a Great Samaritan. Living a life of passion and not mediocrity and many times a forthright individual.

X Factor compiles the comfort of being in one’s own skin, not haughty but know their positive portrayal is a result of time with the creator. They are humbled by the awareness of the awesomeness of God who loves them.

There is no definable yard stick, set of rules, to have and to hold list but it just is. One thing I do know; I want to have the x factor.

Whenever you’re in conflict with someone, there is one factor that can make the difference between damaging your relationship and deepening it. That factor is attitude. William James

Day 30 of my 30 Day Thankfulness Challenge; I am thankful for the God’s Majesty, Protection and Care . 😀

I often forget and bring God down to my level. God is above me and God deserves my worship yet God meets me/us where we are. God’s majesty is amazing. God the creator is not like us — God is not limited like we are in wisdom, in presence, in power, in God’s effectiveness. God is Eternal, Infinite, Almighty. The creation and beauty of the universe is boundless.

The Psalmist said, “The heavens declare the glory of God”

On March 23, 1743, when “The Messiah” was first performed in London, the king was present in the great audience. When the majesty of the Lord was proclaimed by the words of the Hallelujah Chorus, “For the Lord God omnipotent reigneth”, everyone was so deeply moved that they rose as one to their feet–including the king.

Matthew said, “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”

Omniwisdom,is that word? But God is all wise. God is wisdom and God is infinite which makes God infinitely wise.

By God’s power God made the earth, by God’s wisdom set the world firm, and discernment spread out the heavens. But in God there is wisdom, and power too, and good counsel no less than discretion Which God has given to us so fully and freely.

It is my believe that Man is not just an efficient animal; he was made by an act of God, and made in the image and likeness of God! As well Psalm 139 says we are fearfully and wonderfully made….

I like what David said in his Psalm the way that he begins it: “O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!”

God cares for you copy

Knowing the majesty of God, still I often falter in my humanity.
While there are many today have to deal with cancer, serious diseases and the like I only had to deal with a colonoscopy and the two day pre-cleansing procedure; I was at first very nervous for the unknown. I looked at the procedure through the eyes of previous gone-wrong surgeries, anesthesia problems, intravenous problems, resulting nervous and cold response. Yes cold, have you ever been cold in surgery?

Still vivid in my mind was an emergency c-section and subsequent surgery; anesthesia was given but I felt every pain, I heard the doctors joking, I was screaming to the top of my lungs inside but on the outside I was not moving. The only way I could describe the surgery was the beginning of an endless nightmare.

Believe it or not a simple colonoscopy became major for me today. I reminded the anesthetist about the incident and must say they were very kind and concerned about my apprehension.

I literally had to ask people to pray for peace for me. I had no concerns about the procedure’s outcome only the actual procedure. While in my room I prayed that God would calm me and began trusting God afresh.

Thank God things went fairly well and I truly felt God’s peace and warmth. There were also many volunteers and nurse nightingales there as well. God had it all under control with some of the most compassionate people to relieve my fears. In spite of the many things that are questionable in hospitals there is a lot good that goes on there and a lot of staff whose gentleness is prevalent.

Pertienent Quotes:

Cast all of your cares upon Him.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanks-giving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Don’t stress about it; pray about it!

“Is any merry? Let him sing psalms.”

The Majesty of God’s Rule The LORD is king, he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed, he is girded with strength. He has established the world; it shall never be moved; your throne is established from of old; you are from everlasting.
To fall in love with God is the greatest of all romances; To seek Him, the greatest adventure; To find him, the greatest human achievement. Augustine

Thank you for reading my bLoG!

May you have a safe and wonderful Weekend!

Day 7 of my previous 30 Day Thankfulness Challenge; I am thankful for my # 1 Son-in-Law.

Petite in stature but big in heart.  Travelled a dark road with my #1 daughter but am so very proud of his accomplishments during his spiritual metamorphic change.  Through the changes I see God working in his life.

Setting your path on a willingness to grow and learn and change are some of the most important qualities.  He is gaining them in abundance.

#1 son-in-law is an IT genius. He is also a genius in the studio and I am constantly amazed at his ability to work his magic and as a DJ in his free time.

Musical ability flows from his hands to the drums is sweet to watch. Imagine a drummer in the family. Actually he can also play guitar.  Music is a large part of his life and is now doing more work on his vocals.

I must say I am impressed to see him face physical maintenance problems and tries to learn how to fix things on a regular basis. If he keeps this up he is gonna be “Mr. Fix It”  As well is so helpful to # 1 daughter especially during her sickness. Together they work hard at avoiding food allergies.

He is extremely generous of his time to teach his little neices and nephews the ability to master iPad apps. #1 son-in-law loves xboxy type stuff.  #1 son-in-law is his name and electronics is his game.

Pertinent Quotes:
