Every day children die from long drawn out painful debilitating diseases [cancer is one].
This poem is just my reminder to love our family and those that come in our path As if it was their last day. Make it count!

too many today
are holding
their little one
with all their might
soft touch
hoping
to save their life,
pain too much
disease too strong
as they sing
one last song,
earth’s thistles
and weed
extreme fight
tears
cannot hide
the tragedies,
no reason
for sickness
for grieving,
the pain
spur
to pray
hope
strength
reason
stir,
love
release
of life
is hardest easy
to learn…©.

A Safe Place

There is this line in the song
…looking for one safe place…
That triggered my thoughts.

Marc Cohn – One Safe Place Lyrics

How many roads you’ve traveled
How many dreams you’ve chased
Across sand and sky and gravel
Looking for one safe place

Will you make a smoother landing
When you break your fall from grace
Into the arms of understanding
Looking for one safe place

Oh, life is a trial by fire
And love’s the sweetest taste
And I pray it lifts us higher
To one safe place

How many roads we’ve traveled
How many dreams we’ve chased
Across sand and sky and gravel
Looking for one safe place

The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned. Maya Angelou

I think every human on the planet will admit our basic physical needs are for food, water, sleep, and warmth. I believe the needs close to those basic needs is the need for safety and security.

safety

Every child should have a safe place in their life. Joe Manchin
There is a place of reconciliation.
There is a place for forgiveness.
AT least for those that want it with the person/s who has abused you.

There is a place where you have never spoken the truth about the abuse with the abuser.

There is a place where you can pretend a normal relationship with the abuser and pretend it never happened but as we get older that plays havoc with your body and mind and emotions. You will gradually get sicker and sicker. Your spirit and psyche will become more disturbed.

No man or woman on the face of this earth can ignore it forever without suffering for it.

Some say a safe place may be where we live or maybe in whom we live.

I believe a safe place is compiled of many things and if either is damaged we could live in a non-safe zone. Safety is required where we live, how we live, where we were raised, and in whom we trust in our spiritual safety.

For me spiritual safety is simple I walk the path knowing that the creator God is behind me, before me, in my footsteps.

Where I live is fairly simple most of the time. I trust that my immediate family will be respectful and loving. Will protect me when I’m sick. Will see that I am cared for in my aging process and probable death. My husband and I try to keep working to maintain a safe home.

How I live is sometimes Dicey but I simply apply some honest cardinal rules that assist in living safe. My spiritual beliefs flow into how I live which actually protects me and I am free to be as creative and excited about living and learning. The How helps me to be loving albeit I sometimes lose my patience with people but I try to keep the what I consider to be spiritual fruits before me and make it my life long goal to daily work at each of them. Namely; love, temperance, peace, joy, goodness, gentleness, patience, self-control and kindness. Of course they are worthless if I did not continue to do service for others and acts of grace each day.

I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. This would give credence to spiritual security.

I saved this one for last; Safety in where [how] we raised.
I have made peace with the person/s that have abused me in my childhood. I have forgiven long ago and I have done all I could to make things right. Some would say then that’s the end of it. It’s all over now.

No.

I feel I must speak about abuse, be an advocate, educate about abuse, help those who neglect or cannot seek for recovery.

The door to safety hinges on our common sense.

When safety is taken from a child it messes up adult safety.
How we raise our kids is imperative to their safety, to their emotional safety, their spiritual safety, their growth, their whole humanity.

Nothing is too difficult for a creator God to help us to handle. It doesn’t mean you will bypass the necessary steps of hard work to healing.

One encouragement I would give: start a journal, write, talk about the pain. It will start the journey to healing.
*

“We attach our feelings to the moment when we were hurt, endowing it with immortality. And we let it assault us every time it comes to mind. It travels with us, sleeps with us, hovers over us while we make love, and broods over us while we die. Our hate does not even have the decency to die when those we hate die–for it is a parasite sucking OUR blood, not theirs. There is only one remedy for it. [forgiveness] Lewis B. Smedes – Forgive & Forget: Healing the Hurts We Don’t Deserve

*
All the years you have waited for them to “make it up to you” and all the energy you expended trying to make them change (or make them pay) kept the old wounds from healing and gave pain from the past free rein to shape and even damage your life. And still they may not have changed. Nothing you have done has made them change. Indeed, they may never change. Inner peace is found by changing yourself, not the people who hurt you. And you change yourself for yourself, for the joy, serenity, peace of mind, understanding, compassion, laughter, and bright future that you get.” –   Lewis B. Smedes – The Art of Forgiving: When You Need To Forgive And Don’t Know How

*
“Forgiving does not erase the bitter past. A healed memory is not a deleted memory. Instead, forgiving what we cannot forget creates a new way to remember. We change the memory of our past into a hope for our future.”    —Lewis B. Smedes

Talking about abuse helps.

I Turned 60 Christmas 2012 and I have so much to learn. All I know for sure I have to keep loving the best I can and then learn some more and then loving the best I can.

Meditation is a Must!

With the weight of society and intensity of life we can get bogged down.

Need a breather? Need clarity?

I find I need to take time to meditate.  Meditate on things that are good and encouraging.  Also words that would spur me on to live a better life.

What do you do?

Our family has been riddled with sickness and it can cause us to tire. Sometimes this journey causes me to desire a spiritual cleansing, a recharge.

Where are the answers, clarity for me? It is the place and time with the creator for me.

This time causes faith to rise once again in my heart.

Personally time with the creator builds up my courage and stimulates my living.

It in turn gives me everything I need to take on life.

Again personally I’m more free to face the day.  I feel a celebration in meditation. Whatever I have to face that day or week I am reminded that it’s not what will happen but my response to circumstances is critical.

My quiet time with the creator God elevates my mood my thoughts my whole person.

This quiet time is liberating because I sense the creator has given me potential, creativity and abilities yet to be discovered..

Remember the movie “The Lion King” – well who doesn’t.

I love the following scene.
Mufasa: Look, Simba. Everything the light touches is our kingdom.
Young Simba: Wow.
Mufasa: A king’s time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. One day, Simba, the sun will set on my time here, and will rise with you as the new king.
Young Simba: And this’ll all be mine?
Mufasa: Everything.
Young Simba: Everything the light touches…

Wow I thought everything the light touches is for me to enjoy and explore.  Life isn’t too bad at all. One day when the sun sets on my time here; my earthly life over, I am sure there will be another life waiting.

My sincere desire and prayer that my children and my children’s children will rise to the occasion now and at my passing to make this earth a better place.  Reign well.

We live, in fact, in a world starved for solitude, silence, and private: and therefore starved for meditation and true friendship.  C.S. Lewis

“Only in a world where faith is difficult can faith exist.”
Lee Strobel

“Faith is only as good as the one in whom it’s invested.”
Lee Strobel

“In the inner stillness where meditation leads, the Spirit secretly anoints the soul and heals our deepest wounds.” – St. John of the Cross

“I will meditate on your precepts, and consider your ways.”

Don’t Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must but Don’t You Quit!

Life is strange with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up through the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor’s cup
And he learned too late when the night came down
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit
It’s when things seem the worst
That You Mustn’t Quit!

whiteWhat-will-be not what-if!

So easy to get stuck in the what ifs!

It is much more difficult to move past being stuck and make change.

Have a little faith in yourself and the creator who made you perfect.

Oh yes I hear you – sometimes our actions aren’t in line with the perfect that we ought to be.

Stop dead in your tracks and walk in the path of what will be.

What will be or what if:

  • Don’t dwell on the past and do not worry too much about the future; just…be.
  • Looks at obstacles in a different light.  Face the things that aggravate you square in the face; don’t let it block your vision.
  • What if…?” in a negative way, we’ll place ourselves in the mindset for failure.
  • If you continue to seek out the negative in something before you go through with it, you’re always going to place yourself in that mindset of failure. It is ok to take precaution in projects but being paranoid is another. There is a balance.
  • What if’s give no comfort has zero quantity and quality value.
  • No matter what happens, take it with a grain of salt.
  • Embrace the now and the fears and let it all go.
  • Accept imperfections. Was there something standing in your way; try looking at things in a different viewpoint.
  • Meditate; believe me it destroys stress.
  • When you see death look at life.
  • You cannot change the past but you can change the future.
  • Enjoy your day.
  • It’s okay to listen to your heart take a risk move forward; don’t worry.
  • Remember Love.
  • Just BE!

I am so blessed I got to speak to you today.

Never give up on your dream…because you never know what the Creator can bless you with. Yeah

Impossibilities!

This is the cover of my book with slight changes to adapt to this blog post!

feet first and impossibilities

Impossibilities!

There comes a time in the life of every person when they are faced with a seemingly impossible situation.

How do we conduct ourselves during these times?

Why does God allow them?

Can we really prepare for them?
How will we respond?

I do believe in the creator [my choice] and often I have to say there is only one thing to do.

Meet the creator in meditation and prayer and walk in faith.

Why would we become discouraged?

Why would my heart become troubled?

What happens when fear and faith collide?

When we are faced with impossibilities; words begin forming in our minds such as give up, fear, loss, abandon, hopeless, no direction but down. Sounds so familiar doesn’t it?

To accept your lot in life and just make the best of it is what society teaches.

But in Faith I want to alter my/your reasoning concerning the difficult occurrences in each of our lives.

In many respects adversities turn into an opportunity of blessing. I’m just an ordinary person facing the impossibilities BUT believing in the possibilities.

No, the day may not transpire as I had planned BUT there are impossibilities to overcome.

I purpose in my heart to bring honor to God to man and myself…I know I may fail at times but as-God-as-my-witness I SHALL pick myself up and see the OPPORTUNITIES the POSSIBILITIES outweigh the impossibilities.

WHY?

Because the more time I spend with the creator in  meditation and respect the more I gain in faith.

Are you Positive or Negative?
heart 13 p_edited b_edited-1

Check your spirit’s temperature.

  • Negative thoughts are caused by the inner debate about self-esteem, security, money, people, life in general
  • Negative feelings can go from anger, frustration, irritability, to even anxiety and depression
  • Negativity breeds more negativity and goes on a witch hunt for more to collect to the end of your imprisonment
  • Constant hammering thoughts about others and yourself day by day WILL take its toll and you could lose yourself
  • It’s a waste of time- not one single benefit of thinking negatively – SO THINK POSITIVE
  • Be aware of your thoughts and think why
  • Make a list of things about yourself to make changes; go on you can do it
  • Find a path to forgiveness of the past or it will kill your present
  • Negativity produces toxic waste in our emotions, body, psyche and spirit
  • Stop and consider your thoughts and stop the negativity. Practice making that change.
  •  Surround yourself with positive people and positive situations.
  • You don’t have to be negative because someone else is living a negative vibe.
  • Watch your perspective/attitude
  • Be kind
  • Look for the Positive
  • Go for a walk or run to release the brain chemicals to enhance an overall good feeling
  • Meditate
  • Relax
  • Have a gratitude Spirit
  • Banish Self Pity
  • You deserve the best life; see what great qualities you have and nurture them

I will go so far as to say that negativity and negative thoughts can be  dangerous to your health!

ATTITUDE

With the help of Wikipedia:
An attitude is a favorable or an unfavorable evaluation of something. Attitudes are generally positive or negative views of a person, place, thing, or event— this is often referred to as the attitude object. People can also be conflicted or ambivalent toward an object, meaning that they simultaneously possess both positive and negative attitudes toward the item in question.

What we think is as important as what we do

Not only are words and action important by law, relational, emotional etc, but so are y/our thoughts. We are taught that holding a grudge or wishing someone harm is just as bad as hurting them. This is because what we think inspires what we do. Negative self-talk can have devastating effects on y/our selfesteem as well.

Matthew another cool guy, made a very important point – But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the person. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

Clearly y/our attitude is much deeper than just a few thoughts you might think or not think. Your attitude comes out of the core of your being. Y/our attitude represents y/our disposition, y/our outlook, y/our very character.  So I gues we better make sure that what is in y/our heart are good things hey.

Attitude

We can choose what attitude we will embrace for today.

I recently met a 78 year old man who was quite upset about a decision made by government that affected him. It wasn’t long before he ranted and raved about his hatred for different ethnic peoples using threats and words of violence and potential death threats. Suffice it to say I was perturbed, appalled by such blatant display of hatred. My mind was reeling from the exposure of hatred. It took some time for to become calm again and detox my mind and turn towards a more positive attitude.

Some people think that the whole world stinks. Once a cranky grandpa laid down to take a nap. To have a little fun, his grandson put some limburger cheese on his mustache, right under his nose. Grandpa awoke with a snort, staggered out of the bedroom and shouted, “This room stinks!” On through the house he went, shouting louder, “This whole house stinks!” He charged out on the porch and shouted as loud as he could, “The whole world stinks!” The truth is, it was grandpa who stunk. The problem was right under his own nose.
“We are a culture that relies on technology over community, a society in which spoken and written words are cheap, easy to come by, and excessive. Our culture says anything goes; fear of God is almost unheard of. We are slow to listen, quick to speak, and quick to become angry.”
— Francis Chan (Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God)

With that quote in mind; attitude and subsequent actions are so very important.

attitudequote

Positive and Grateful attitude can determine how you live your life.

A Proverb “For as a man thinks in his heart, so he is…”
What a difference your attitude makes! Your attitude affects every relationship in your life. And sometimes relationships will never get started in the first place — because many times your attitude has built up walls… making it difficult for people to be around you.

Tips to a Good Attitude!

• Be calm – Meditate/ calm your thoughts
• Believe the best about everyone
• Be a-Warm-Smiling -Smile
• Be thankful
• Be happy – think happy thoughts
• Be Kind – Don’t Gossip
• Be Positive – any old fish can be negative. Helps self esteem

Is it possible that attitude can:
• MAKE OR BREAK YOU
• HEAL OR HURT YOU
• MAKE YOU FRIENDS OR MAKE YOU ENEMIES
• MAKE YOU HAPPY OR MAKE YOU MISERABLE
• MAKE YOU A SUCCESS OR MAKE YOU A FAILURE

attitude (2)

by: Charles Swindoll

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude… I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.

And so it is with you/I… we are in charge of our attitudes.

Another Story

The story is told of a wonderful, elderly lady. She had very little money and lived in a rundown house, but she was always praising the God. Her only problem was with the old man who lived next door. He was always trying to prove to her that there was no God. One day, as the old man was walking by her house, he noticed the woman through an open window. She was kneeling down in prayer, so he crept over to the window to see if he could hear. She was praying, ” God, you’ve always given me what I’ve needed.” She prayed. “And now you know that I don’t have any money, and I’m completely out of groceries, and I won’t get another check for a week.” She continued, “somehow, Lord, can you get me some groceries.” The man had heard all he needed. He crept away from the window and ran down to the grocery store. He bought milk, bread, and lunch meat. He ran back to the woman’s house carrying the groceries. He set the bag down on by her door, rang the doorbell, and hid beside of the house. You can imagine how the woman reacted to seeing the bag of groceries. She threw her hands over head and began praising God.  “Thank you,” she shouted. “I was without food and you provided the groceries.” About that time the old man jumped out and said, “I’ve got you now.” She was too busy shouting thank yous to pay any attention. “I told you there was no God,” the old man said, ” it wasn’t God who gave you those groceries it was me.” “Oh no,” the woman said. “God got me these goroceries and made the devil pay for them.” She had the right attitude for God albeit a little strange toward her neighbor.

That’s what friends are for – it may sound too idyllic…but we should aspire to be good friends..that is a part of a good attitude.

Song “That’s What Freinds for Sure”

Alexander Tsiaras: Conception to birth — visualized

As much as you think you are alone so often; I beg to differ!

*

I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in his hands

I have a Father
He calls me His own
He’ll never leave me
No matter where I go

He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And He hears me when I call
*

*
Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning
Who told the ocean you an only come this far?
Who showed the moon where to hide ’til evening
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?

Well I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
All of creation testify
This life within me cries
I know my Redeemer lives

The very same God that spins things in orbit
He runs to the weary, the worn and the weak
And the same gentle hands that hold me when I’m broken
They conquered death to bring me victory

Now I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redemer lives
Let all creation testify
Let this life wihtin me cry
I know my Redeemer, He lives

To take away my shame
And He lives forever I’ll proclaim
That the payment for my sin
Was the precious life He gave
But now He’s alive
And there’s an empty grave.

And I know my Redeemer, He lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creation testify
This life within me cries
I know my Redeemer lives

Z is for Zucchini and Zzzzzzzz’s!

Of course Zucchini is a summer squash which can reach nearly a meter in length, but which is usually harvested at half that size or less. Along with certain other squashes, it belongs to the species Cucurbita pepo. Zucchini can be dark or light green. A related hybrid, the golden zucchini, is a deep yellow or orange color.

In a culinary context, the zucchini is treated as a vegetable, which means it is usually cooked and presented as a savory dish or accompaniment. Botanically, however, the zucchini is an immature fruit, being the swollen ovary of the zucchini flower. Wikipedia – what would I do without Wikipedia.

zucchini
Zucchini is also great in stir fry or in baking. Here is a yummy cake recipe. OF course when your belly has a taste of this heavenly recipe you will be ready for some ZZZZ’s.

Deep Dark Chocolate Sour Cream Zucchini Cake

1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
1/4 cup canola or other mild vegetable oil
1 3/4 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup cocoa
1 or 2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup sour cream or plain yogurt
2 cups grated unpeeled zucchini (about 2 smallish, or 1 large)
3/4 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips, or both (optional)

Preheat oven to 325°F and spray a Bundt pan with nonstick spray. In a large bowl, beat the butter, oil and sugar on high speed with an electric mixer for 2-3 minutes, until thick and pale yellow. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.

In a smaller bowl, stir together the flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add a third to the butter mixture and beat just until blended; add half the sour cream and do the same. Repeat with another third of the flour mixture, the rest of the sour cream, and the rest of the flour. Stir in the zucchini and the nuts and/or chocolate chips, if you’re using them, and pour the thick batter into the pan, smoothing the top.

Bake for an hour, until the top is cracked and springy to the touch. Invert onto a plate or cake stand while still warm. Serves 8-16.

There are SO many benefits to ZZZZZ’s/Sleep:

Anyone that has trouble sleeping knows the health hazards associated with a loss of sleep.

I had to go to a sleep lab and sleep overnight and of course I was hooked up to what seemed like a million wires. The results are still in progress but I have learned a lot about sleep and sleep patterns.

REM sleep occurs 90 minutes after sleep onset. The first period of REM typically lasts 10 minutes, with each recurring REM stage lengthening, and the final one may last up to an hour.

Polysomnograms show brainwave patterns in REM to be similar to that recorded during wakefulness. In people without sleep disorders, heart rate and respiration speed up and become erratic during REM sleep. During this stage the eyes move rapidly in different directions.

Intense dreaming occurs during REM sleep as a result of heightened brain activity, but paralysis occurs simultaneously in the major voluntary muscle groups. REM is a mixture of encephalic (brain) states of excitement and muscular immobility. For this reason, it is sometimes called paradoxical sleep.

During the deep stages of NREM sleep, the body repairs and regenerates tissues, builds bone and muscle, and appears to strengthen the immune system. As you get older, you sleep more lightly and get less deep sleep.

My problem is that I do not have deep sleep… Actually, REM sleep is not as “deep” as Deep sleep, both in terms of brain activity as well as ease of arousal. Deep sleep is called “deep” because neural activity produces deep, slow waves during this phase and because it is more difficult to rouse someone from this sleep phase than others.

For the body, the deep sleep has a purifying, restoring and energizing function.

10 Benefits of Sleep:

1. Improves your Memory!
 2. Builds a Stronger Immune System so you can fight off those nasty winter colds and flus and bugs
3. Curbs Inflammation, which is linked to heart disease, stroke, premature aging, and diabetes
4. Spurs Creativity and learning functions
5. Improves Athleticism
6. Strengthens your Attention Span and Sharpens Your Attention to Detail
7. Balances/Steadies and increase Metabolism
8. Lowers Stress Levels which greatly improves the ability to weight loss
9. Decreases Anxiety and Lowers the chances of obtaining Depression
10. Gives you More Energy, of course!

I know when I don’t have enough ZZZZ’s. Here is a list of some of the signs of a lack of Z’s:

• Tired all the time
• Drowsy in the car
• Needing a coffee to wake up
• Inability to concentrate
• Irritated
• Feeling sickly most of the time

If you have any sleep issues I hope you resolve them quickly or least a pattern toward that end.

Sleep is the best medication and meditation. Me 😀

A well-spent day brings happy sleep. Leonardo da Vinci

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Creator God, only makest me dwell in safety.

I is for Iced Tea and Integrity!

One advertisement of Iced Tea boasts that it is; An iced tea made with a progressive bottling process that extracts oxygen, the cause of food spoilage. With oxygen gone, so is the need to laden the product with chemicals or preservatives. The result is an organic tea that is as pure as any tea freshly prepared.  It is actually very delicious.

Brewed from the same leaves as hot teas, iced tea has the same health benefits as its warmer counterpart. Numerous studies have shown that higher levels of flavonoids and other substances in tea give it many antioxidant properties. Adding lemon juice, which contains high amounts of beneficial vitamin C and potassium, to your iced tea not only lends flavor, but can increase the health benefits as well.

Don’t you just love a Iced Tea with a twist of Lemon on a warm day!!

iced tea

Iced tea assists in increasing the strength of the immune system. It protects teeth from plaque with many health experts recommending it for people looking to shed some weight.

A person who loves his/her tea can sit with an ice tea firm in their integrity.

Whoho  “Integrity”

What is Integrity?

Don’t you just love Wipedia.

Integrity is a concept of consistency of actions, values, methods, measures, principles, expectations, and outcomes. In ethics, integrity is regarded as the honesty and truthfulness or accuracy of one’s actions. Integrity can be regarded as the opposite of hypocrisy,[1] in that integrity regards internal consistency as a virtue, and suggests that parties holding apparently conflicting values should account for the discrepancy or alter their beliefs.

To be a person of integrity can on occasion be a tall order but necessary courage.

A person of integrity is validated by their words and deeds. Integrity is making your daily actions line up with your heart’s values.

In other words, what I say and what I do give evidence as to who I am.

Now that is significant because how I feel in my heart, I Must do, less I become closer to a weakling, a fake, a coward. Oh my that is huge.

Mark Twain said: “Speaking honestly is better. It takes a lot of stress out of our lives. If you tell the truth you don’t have to remember anything, but if you don’t tell the truth you have to remember what you said.”

If I have integrity then I have a guidance, a peace, a path. No need to worry. I will have a moral compass.

When tested a person of integrity will do what is right.

Since integrity begins in our heart.  For me; that means I must ask God to examine my heart to see if there be anything unbecoming a lady.

My encouragement; don’t cave in.  Even when all things are going wrong remain faithful.  Be a person of integrity.  Be blameless.  Don’t be persuaded by others to diminish your integrity.

“Everybody else is doing it?” This is one of the most lame rationalizations that we could use to justify our actions.

I care what the creator thinks of me.  I want to remain integral in all my dealings!

Again what does integrity look like? If you/I is a person of integrity it will reflect in every facet of our lives. How we act/react in our relationships; our business, our marriage, friendship, acquaintances, writing, words, sports, politics, sickness, spiritual life, thoughts, extra curricular or testing or turmoil.  Nothing goes untouched.

It is open and honest in all y/our dealings! WOW!

Quotes I am Pondering Today!

If you take care of yourself and walk with integrity, you may be confident that God will deal with those who sin against you. Above all, don’t give birth to sin yourself; rather, pray for those who persecute you. God will one day turn your persecution into praise. Warren Wiersbe

Live so that when your children think of fairness, caring, and integrity, they think of you.  H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

The strength of a nation derives from the integrity of the home. Confucius

G is for Grapes and Gratitude!

I must say I love grapes especially blue/purple grapes. Something about holding a cluster of grapes.

Grapes can be eaten raw or they can be used for making jam, jelly, juice, grape seed extract, raisins, vinegar, wine, and another favorite of mine, grape seed oil.

GRAPES are Full of essential vitamins like Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B and Folate. A four Oz serving of grapes can contain anywhere close to 20-25% of your daily required serving of Vitamin C. The most significant minerals present in grapes is Manganese and Potassium. Other minerals found in grapes are Copper, Zinc, Calcium, Phosphorous, Iron and Selenium.

For all of that I am sincerely Grateful…

No need to think just eat GRAPES! ♥

Bless Wikipedia. It tells us that Gratitude, thankfulness, gratefulness, or appreciation is a feeling or attitude in acknowledgment of a benefit that one has received or will receive.

In times of solitude and prayer I always think of the positive people and things in my life.  Gratitude is the ‘something’ that makes me happy and allows me to face the not so great things in my life and illuminates the most important in life.  This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Gratitude
effortless welcome
when all is well
love all around
 vison has risen
solution close

grateful for life and limb
assured of breathe
grateful to you
who brighten my path
nourish my heart
soften soul’s soil
exchange common ground
enriching gratefulness

grateful for the love you give
sparkling incandescent smile
luminous laugh
caressing comfort
tender tears

grateful when it’s difficult
for all the evil that befall
heartbreak of the past
set backs toils and snares
troubles of yesteryear

grateful when stressed
overwhelmed
water has risen to my neck
floods engulf me
am scorned, disgraced
dim’s light
dare to see blessings
in spite of everything
grateful that good can conquer
all that looms as depressing
seize the day
