golden-rule

In a world of adversity, division at its extreme, despair and death; I know I need to learn how to bond and work together so I/we can help more people.

I don’t want to just sit around, moan and groan.

I’m sure I can be outspoken yet tender-hearted and insightful or the very least – willing to learn.

  • Personally I absolutely feel we have to continue to SHOW deep love for each other
  • Cheerfully share y/our home with those who need a meal or a place to stay
  • Use the creative, gifting, heart, strengths to impact the world around you

Coach Vince Lombardi on making a winning team. Lombardi said, “There are a lot of coaches with good ball clubs who know the fundamentals and have plenty of discipline but still don’t win the game. Then you come to the third ingredient: if you’re going to play together as a team, you’ve got to care for one another. You’ve got to love each other. Each player has to be thinking about the next guy. You’ve got to do your job well in order that he can do his. The difference between mediocrity and greatness is the feeling these guys have for each other.”

SPORTS, BUSINESS, CHURCH, EDUCATION, CHARITY, GOVERNMENT, CITY, NATION, COUNTRY – every team must care.

Not just to care But Love not just to love But Show Love.

Love is not an abstract idea. Love must be manifested.

True love is not just something you feel – it’s something you demonstrate!

  • Marriages have problems when partners don’t show love to one another. A husband and wife may love each other deeply but have a miserable marriage because they don’t know how to show their love for one another.
  • You can’t raise kids properly without showing them love.
  • You can’t have true, lasting, satisfying friendships if your friends can’t tell that you love them.
  • You can’t experience relationships in the community or in your church family without showing and receiving love.

Some people find it rather easy to show love. It’s natural as breathing.

Others find it difficult – in fact they feel uncomfortable – simply because of your upbringing.

So HOW do we show love to others.

Treat others just as you want to be treated -The Golden Rule

This is basic.  How do I want to be treated?

 IN no particular order:

  • Listen to me when I talk
  • Show Love to me
  • Forgive me
  • Try Understanding me
  • Give me a Second chance
  • Respect me
  • Think about me
  • Be in the moment/ engaging
  • Relax with me
  • Meet some of my needs
  • Be patient with me
  • Be kind to me
  • Be Faithful to me
  • Do right by me
  • Remember with me
  • Include me in Making memories
  • Honor me
  • Be genuine with me
  • Appreciate me

Oh Dear

Sounds needy

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged.

It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.

Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Wow

But in reality we are all fragile, delicate, sensitive and utterly in need of love.

Thanks for stopping by……Beverley

I’m sure you have seen this video but before you leave check it out again thanks……Have a wonderful week.

christmas tree couple

**

We know that we ought to be thankful for the good things and use the not so great things to teach us to count our blessings.

touching-hands

One of the greatest blessing in our lives is to love and know love.

It is far too easy to camouflage the very people we love that make life worthwhile, with the business and busyness of life.

Tis the Season-
It’s Christmas, it’s a miracle, it’s love, it’s a gift –
To fall in love is a precious gift, a miracle.

Would you like to fall in love all over again?

To fall in love all over again brings tears to my heart and rain to my eyes.

Would you like to fall in love again this Christmas season?

To look into the eyes of creator God afresh and see the miracles of his love for you. To once again have hope because of the Man whose birth we celebrate on Christmas Day. To fall in love with the creator not just his creation.

To look into the eyes of your spouse as once you did and caused that head over heels butterfly feeling. The commitment in your heart of your youth to never take him/her for granted.

As a youth or young adult in love it is so natural to want to explore, to touch, to feel that warm body of another human being. To immerse in that sensual electrifying experience. The desire to be in love came so naturally; could that happen again?

I believe that one of the biggest reasons that people are miserable especially at Christmas is because they refuse to let go of the hurts, disappointment, and offenses of others. They justify their pain and keep themselves and others locked in a prison of unforgiveness. Believe me It isn’t easy making the choice to forgive But living with unforgiveness can be deadly! There is a great need to forgive.

A need to rekindle, refresh, fan the flame of love.

To make a date every day. Re-establish connection with your life-companion the forever friendship. There’s a good man in there- there’s a good woman in there.
In sickness and in health. To be captivated once again.

To look into the eyes of your now grown child/ren and remember the naivety of that new mom feeling. To remember your heart swell with love for the little one. The smell, the touch of his/her silky newborn skin of this little human who needs you every second of every day. The promise you made to nurture and keep them safe all wrapped in the warmth of your love. To disrespect or allow harm near your child would be unthinkable. Remember – you would never let anyone or anything interfere with that sweet baby smile. Honor your children.

As we fall in love with God, spouse and child remember those who suffer. For those who are ill, forgotten, lonely; for those who are homeless and are huddled on dark winter nights in the unseen corners of cities all over the world.

Don’t let this season be the greatest regret of your life.
Let it be the greatest love’s rebirth of your Existence. Let it bring you back to life.
To feel, to touch, to hug, to forgive, to kiss, to recommit, bringing joy thought lost.

No it doesn’t have to be a fairy tale but true life.

Thanks for reading my blog!

Merry Christmas

Power of Words

Words

You can get quite good at using them
A Heated argument
Using words to hurt
Actually You can get quite good at hurting as well
But what if the relationship or the person dies. Such pain inflicted.
What then?

The alternative
Spend the rest of one’s life
For good
To heal
To encourage
 To lift the broken hearted
To bind and heal wounds
To make amends

Good words is therapy
Change is necessary

It takes practice
One word at a time!©

Words Don’t Come Easy

For those interested in this music here is a great song

See HIs Love

Love Me Do

While I do not aspire to all of Will’s beliefs; these words are great.

I’ve been away from my blog for quite some time fighting dragons.  I’m back now though.

You can encourage one another with your ACTIONS.

Remember to listen to the video at the end of the post; Bruno Mars is fabulous.

Who was it that said Actions speak louder than – WORDS?
The values you/I have in life are judged more by how you/I live y/our life than by what you say.

People notice what you DO.

By our actions – we are setting an example for others to follow.

James a well known guy said to be Be doers not hearers only.

Love is more than emotion/s.
“Love is patient; love is kind. Love does not envy; is not boastful; is not conceited; does not act improperly; is not selfish; is not provoked; does not keep a record of wrongs; finds no joy in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

Love is “ACTION”

I can choose to show kindness or not to show kindness.

I can choose to be compassionate or not.

I can choose to brag or not to brag.

I can choose to hold a grudge or to let it go.

I can choose..

Just the other day I was talking to a government official at the pardons Canada dept. Before I go any further I was talking to pardons Canada as a liaison for someone else.  We talked about giving people second chances.  People may have taken many wrong paths but there comes a time when someone needs to give them a chance.  Who knows we could be the very person whose act of kindness- a giver of second chances – could give someone back their life.

ACTIONS

It is wise to have good role models.  We all need them.  We all need someone to cheer us onward.
I have a few good earthly flesh and blood role models. I also have the creator; I am safe to follow the creator.

In a world with such negativity and trash; There are so many people that are in need of encouragement so then it is required of me whenever possible to do just that. Actions speak louder than words

Touch of Love

AT the touch of love
adoration abounds
clarity in change
fragrance of delight
cry together
touch the wounds
share the pain
healing rain
of heaven
who touches
my soul
inside cradle
of comfort
as a lullaby song

a passion for lifeCan we live without passion?

  • To live compelling and vigor we need passion
  • To make things last we need passion
  • To make life worthwhile we need passion
  • To have healthy relationships we need passion

Isaac Watts said, May I govern my passions with absolute sway, and grow wiser and better as life wears away.

Without passion most likely we will be without energy.

We need passion to keep our marriage alive, to pursue education, to pursue art, pursue relationships, to pursue and understand history, to pursue spiritual matters.

“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

WHAT WE TREASURE REFLECTS OUR PASSION AND WE HAVE A PASSION FOR WHAT WE CONSIDER TO BE OUR TREASURE.

For me I look to God my creator for inspiration. There lies my treasure.

In a day where I/me/my/self-interest is the order of the day faith can somehow be dwindling away or in times of distress be swept away.

A.W. Tozer said it like this … “We may WANT God, but we want something else more. And we get what we want most.”

I want a passion for the creator God, for life, for family, for every moment of every day.

Life will rob spiritual passion. Circumstances of life will destroy passion. When those times come, nothing less than restoration will do. An Extreme Makeover of our personal spiritual pursuits.  Enthusiasm reclaimed.  Have a vigor to be more helpful for hurting mankind.

The Passion I’m talking about and desire is touched by Webster’s definition: A STRONG, EXTRAVAGANT FONDNESS, ENTHUSIASM, OR DESIRE FOR SOMETHING.

I wonder do purpose give us a reason to wake up and start the day but is it passion that keeps us going kinda propel us forward.

It is the passion that draws us out of depression, elevate the soul.

A passion to pursue should always make ourselves and our world a better place to live.

 passion

I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life. He taught me that if you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it at full speed ahead. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it and above all become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good. Hot is no good either. White hot and passionate is the only thing to be. – Roald Dahl; British Novelist

Are you bored with life? Then throw yourself into some work you believe in with all your heart, live for it, die for it, and you will find happiness that you had thought could never be yours. – Audrey Hepburn;
Actress, Humanitarian

Our passions are the winds that propel our vessel. Our reason is the pilot that steers her. Without winds the vessel would not move and without a pilot she would be lost. – Proverb

A great leader’s courage to fulfill his vision comes from passion, not position.”
– John Maxwell,

Never underestimate what passion can do in your life.

  • Passion; without it you give up.
  • Passion; without it time becomes hard.
  • Passion without it endurance runs thin.

Y is for Yogurt and Yield!

Yogurt or yoghurt or yoghourt; is a dairy product (nut milks, such as almond milk, and coconut milk can also be used) produced by bacterial fermentation of milk. The bacteria used to make yogurt are known as “yogurt cultures”. Fermentation of lactose by these bacteria produces lactic acid, which acts on milk protein to give yogurt its texture and its characteristic tang.[Wikpedia.]

Yogurt is nutritionally rich in protein, calcium, riboflavin, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12. It has nutritional benefits beyond those of milk. Lactose-intolerant individuals can sometimes tolerate yogurt better than other dairy products.

To offset its natural sourness, yogurt is also sold sweetened, flavoured or in containers with fruit or fruit jam on the bottom.

Nondairy yogurts -Since at least 1977 yogurt has been made from soymilk.

Yogurt is pretty much enjoyed all over the world.

DEanas Yogurt

I love yogurt with fruit/granola or wheat germ. More and more my family enjoys Greek yogurt or yogurt made from goat’s milk.

In today’s society of nutritional awareness Yogurt does not yield to sugar.

Yield – one amazing often troublesome word.

Yield  may refer to [so says Wikipedia]:

Physics/chemistry

Earth science

Finance

Other uses

BUT what does Yield really mean:

  • to give or render as fitting, rightfully owed, or required
  • to give up possession of on claim or demand
  • to surrender or relinquish
  • to surrender or submit (oneself) to another
  • to give (oneself) up to a temptation or habit
  • to relinquish one’s possession of (as a position of advantage or point of superiority)
  • to be fruitful or productive
  • to give up and cease resistance or contention -submit
  • give way to pressure, persuasion
  • to give way under physical force (as bending, stretching, or breaking)
  • to give place or precedence or acknowledge the superiority of someone else
  • to give way to or become succeeded by someone or something else

In this self-usurping/self-sufficient/don’t tell-me-what-to-do society; Yield is a very difficult word!  Don’t go off the cuff let’s slow down just for a few moments. Yield is not necessarily a bad thing.  Yes I agree in some rare cases it is.

In its place there is nothing wrong with a surrender or submit (oneself) to another:

In New Brunswick I came to a covered, one lane bridge with a yield sign on both end. Yes yield signs had been placed at both ends of the bridge. Drivers from both directions were requested to give right of way. It was a reasonable and gracious way of preventing a head-on collision.

I personally try my best to follow the commands of the Bible one of which is to “be subject to one another”- it is simply a reasonable and gracious command to let the other have the right of way and avoid interpersonal head-on collisions.

In the summer of 1986, two ships collided in the Black Sea off the coast of Russia. Hundreds of passengers died as they were hurled into the icy waters below. News of the disaster was further darkened when an investigation revealed the cause of the accident. It wasn’t a technology problem like radar malfunction–or even thick fog. The cause was human stubbornness. Each captain was aware of the other ship’s presence nearby. Both could have steered clear, but according to news reports, neither captain wanted to give way to the other. Each was too proud to yield first. By the time they came to their senses, it was too late.

The word ‘Yield’ is also obedience to what is right. Here is a funny; hilarious story.

Neil Marten, a member of the British Parliament, was once giving a group of his constituents a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament. During the course of the visit, the group happened to meet Lord Hailsham, then lord chancellor, wearing all the regalia of his office. Hailsham recognized Marten among the group and cried, “Neil!” Not daring to question or disobey the “command,” the entire band of visitors promptly fell to their knees!  You get it NEIL not KNEEL.

Back to the thought of submitting/surrender or acknowledge someone of superiority.

When I say I follow God and the principles of Jesus Christ it does not absolve me of my responsibilities in life nor the consequences of my decisions or lack thereof. There are so many variables and uncertainties in life we need the power of heaven to guide us.  To follow an example of perfection always helps and guides and produces growth.

Open to learn and change.

Be open to learning and change no matter where the advice comes from. Simply this; when we are criticized we ought to ask ourselves is there any truth to the criticism. If it does, we should learn from it, even when it’s not in the right motivation or right spirit. IF you acted wrongly; admit and go on with a new vigor to change.

yield

Surrender your walk, journey, lessons, reputation to please the creator and bring honor to yourself and your community and family.

There are some things we should never allow to dictate how we should live our lives and succeed.

CRADLES OF EMINENCE

In a famous study by Victor and Mildred Goertzel, entitled Cradles of Eminence, the home backgrounds of 300 highly successful people were investigated. These 300 subjects had made it to the top. They were men and women whose names everyone would recognize as brilliant in their fields, such as Franklin D. Roosevelt, Helen Keller, Winston Churchill, Albert Schweitzer, Clara Barton, Gandhi, Einstein, and Freud. The intensive investigation into their early home lives yielded some surprising findings:

* Three fourths of the children were troubled either by poverty, by a broken home, or by rejecting, over possessive, or dominating parents.

* Seventy-four of 85 writers of fiction or drama and 16 of the 20 poets came from homes where, as children, they saw tense psychological drama played out by their parents.

* Physical handicaps such as blindness, deafness, or crippled limbs characterized over one-fourth of the sample.

And yet from such poor circumstances, God was able to bring success.

SOURCE: Cradles of Eminence by Victor and Mildred Goertzel. Little Brown & Company, June 1962

There are some things we never yield to. There are some pressures we never bow to. To give way to dysfunctional pressure, abuse, violence, demeaning behaviour where we find ourselves lost and undone.  WE can learn to be fearless in the face of fear, abuse and dysfunction.

The flip side to this is when a family is free of abuse and oppression, it can be the place of joyful learning where we share our deepest secrets. Where we are willing to sacrifice to give without losing who we are as individuals but making the family unit beautiful and loved.

I love what J. Dobson says. “By learning to yield to the loving authority…of his/her parents, a child learns to submit to other forms of authority which will confront him later in his life, his teachers, school principal, police, neighbors and employers.”

Gandhi said that all compromise is based on give and take, but there can be no give and take on fundamentals. Any compromise on mere fundamentals is a surrender. For it is all give and no take.

“Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”  Winston Churchill

Tozer speaks of faith. A surrender that does not demean or loss but enhances.  Faith, as Paul saw it, was a living, flaming thing leading to surrender and obedience to the commandments of Christ.

True Godly surrender and worship is more than singing and praising God. Worship involves us doing, not just singing. It involves us caring for others, and meeting the needs of others. If we truly worship God, we will be involved in the activities of kindness, compassion and love selflessly. What God can do with a life who loves and lives in humility. Nothing but amazing.

Rick Warren said that The heart (core) of worship is an attitude of complete surrender to God, which is an unnatural concept in light of today’s competitive culture. But it is the natural response of the Christian into God’s love and mercy.

“God is a Lover and a Liberator, and surrendering to Him brings freedom, not bondage. When we completely surrender ourselves to Jesus, we discover that He is not a tyrant, but a Savior; not a boss, but a Brother; not a dictator, but a Friend.” (pg. 79) Purpose Driven LIfe.

I know there is a certain amount of faith and trust required to trust God to be a major source of living life on this beautiful planet.

For me God is amazing and God’s love is amazing and God helps me be a better me.

The ‘yield’ is more than progeny but the yield of our life. If our yield is great we leave some wonderful memories behind.

May you be blessed this week with wonderful experiences.

A Great Love Song entitled So Close:

One of my favorite love songs:

Night and day, you are the one
Only you ‘neath the moon or under the sun
Whether near to me or far, It’s no matter, darling, where you are
I think of you day and night

May this year 2013

BE your year to learn to love, to love, be loved and renew your love!
Love isn’t perfect and the one you love isn’t perfect and you/I aren’t perfect

BUT we keep moving forward to make it work.

The poem below is the poem I wrote for my husband on our 40th Anniversary Sept 2012.

No holds barred imperfection and all.

Happy 40th Anniversary

Some would say
that loving is just a
piece of heaven
or maybe
somewhere between
here and there
the entrance
to the musical ladder of rainbow colors
or maybe
between earth and that far off gal-axy
in the midst of a whisper or a breathe
can this be true?
i must believe the unbelievable truth
forever we could be, in love, eternally
inspired by a miracle
Magnetic

Your grin
your confident athletic stride
across that classroom
caught my heart by surprise
incredible
bending down
to spin the bottle
pick me! yes me! just once!
eye to eye
a glimpse of your glassy sea of love
hair locks of black ,brush mine
hush! time suspended
 i close my eyes
As your lips touch my cheek

All my prayers answered
in that moment
when into my life he came
 for he was heaven sent,
 i believe in our love
too young to know your
olympian prowess
radiance
wanting, needing
carefree
compassion in your embrace
tender moments
your mouth invite kisses
forever changed
love flowed amidst
the vigor of a gazelle
and the courageous lioness
 n’er a gentler man
than this
caress of my brow
Your whispers

Let’s go for a ride
it’s such a warm evening
climbing into car
top down
your left hand on the wheel
my head on your shoulder
your arm on mine
my right hand catching the wind
to locking my fingers in yours
our hair tangled
many joyous tears flowed free
stopping the car jumping out
let’s dance in the rain
doesn’t matter
hold me tight
don’t let me go
noble steed was he
as his arm slowly stroke my back
pulled me close
precious moments were these
it’s gonna be
A beautiful night tonight

At lover’s lane
captivated by his charm
as he sang to me
it is your strength i see, as you sing
you’ve opened a window to heaven’s light
my love for you will burn so bright
the night is young let’s swim
under this blanket of stars
refreshed
gathering driftwood to build a fire
your face shimmering in its blaze
enchanted
as i sit here on the beach
my normal life seems so out of reach
the waves hitting the sand
flankers fly while you hold my hand
passion has seized my soul
ecstasy
all is quiet now
Only the ebb and flow of your breath

This is more
than picture perfect
it’s real
where naive love’s caress
and angels’ wings
 meet hallelujah
young love,
better than wine
unaware of ancient bliss
where once a vacant lot
 brokenness,
now a captivated heart
horizon clear,
hands turned fast
one, two, three, four,
fashioned by love
times are hard
but get back up
your strength i make my own
for our future’s
Progeny

We forgot how to play
no, we’ve lost our way
bitter words
regret
let’s practise once more
into the depth
it shone again
savor love, love is beautiful
even at the end of your shift
at 4 am
tender touch
soft kiss on my cheek
snuggle in, warm my feet
tired, troubled
and how sweet magic returns
tender touch, lips sweet, fulfillment
 luminous door to the devine
our past came to kiss us here
wonderment, his voice, complete
Wholeness

But what about when I get old
will you still love me
on the ‘morrow?
yea or née ’tis yea said i
oh love that wilt not let me go
love ’till evening fades
and dawn breaks
in another land
where happiness and love
fill an ocean eternal
who said?
there was ne’er a fountain of youth
ah we are sitting
at its feet
close to apple blossom flowers
With continuous ‘I Love You’!

I LOVE that you came to visit!

Q is for Quiche and Quirky.

Quiche (/ˈkʃ/ KEESH) is a savory, open-faced pastry crust dish with a filling of savory custard with cheese, meat, fish or vegetables.  Quiche has a pastry crust and a filling of eggs and milk or cream which, when baked, become a custard.

quiche-lorraine

My favorite is Quiche Lorraine and I like the added twist of spinach that is not in the recipe.

http://allrecipes.com/recipe/quiche-lorraine-i/

Quiche Julia Child way.

http://www.boston.com/lifestyle/food/2012/08/21/recipe-for-quiche-lorraine/rWKZiFtm9PGjAvdOxdb1BL/story.html

Now don’t get to excited Quiche is not just for women.  It is not a sexist dish. Quiche is a quirky type dish that has lots of charm and nutrition.

That’s an unusual trait: Quirky. Characterized by peculiar or unexpected traits: “quirky charm”.

We can’t be perfect although we strive to be our best self. However what makes a person SO interesting is the quirky characteristic.

Quirkiness definitely first and foremost has these 6 qualities:

  • Curiosity about world
  • Find positive in things
  • Fully engaged in the moment
  • Gracious
  • Passion for LIfe

These 6 above then kick starts into the following:

Believe me it takes no strength to be a hater – real strength is pushing beyond your past, present, the flaws, and letting stuff go and embrace the positive more important virtues. In spite of all the virtues we should strive for, you don’t have to be a cookie cutter  person you can have your own quirky ways to display love, kindness and optimism.

To be quirky means a more original, to think out of the box some would say a little off the wall. Now don’t go overboard and become so freakish people will run when you walk down the street.

I think quirky means a uniqueness.  Be unique in representing the creator. Be unique in the way you love. Be unique in your creativity.  Be unique in a way you make your imprint on this planet.

It’s the humor and tenderness combined.  It’s the sensitivity and stalwart combined.

A truly quirky person does not, I repeat does not have to fall in line with current commercials and advertisements and society’s expectation of what is beautiful in body image, size or color schemes.  Not focused on mass media and trends not changing to please everyone except the creator. To know yourself well. To follow true to excelling in vitreous living.

Of course quirkiness has to allow for individual daily ways of living or rituals, likes and dislikes.

My quirks

Can’t sleep without 3 pillows
Love the feel of Clean sheets
Don’t spring out of bed Wake up in the morning very slowly
Love clean for others
Love clean floor

Love mirrors
Like neatness
Don’t like people yelling
Prefer children’s cartoons
Like to lay on the beach wrapped in quilt who am I kidding I love being wrapped in a quilt all day long
Love sitting on lazy boy chair with my laptop
Love the words ‘I love you’ – some days I may say it 50 times
Love licorice
I always announce that I have to go the washroom
Won’t drink after anyone [using the glass belonging to anyone] else not even my husband
Won’t use a facecloth used by someone else
I always have a ‘To do’ list
Must shower before housecleaning

I must know major parts or sometimes the ending of movies with a lot of suspense or I can’t watch them

I could say more but you might think I’m crazy 😀

How quirky are you?

Quirky Facts:

  • The leg muscles of a locust are about 1000 times more powerful than an equal weight of human muscle.
  • A sneeze travels out of your mouth at over 100 mph.
  • The blue whale can produce sounds up to 188 decibels. This is the loudest sound produced by a living animal and has been detected as far away as 530 miles.
  • There are between 100,000,000,000 and 1,000,000,000,000 stars in a normal galaxy.
  • By raising your legs slowly and laying on your back, you can’t sink in quicksand. [haven’t tested it though]
  • Diamonds are the hardest substance known to man.
  • On average, Elephants sleep for about 2 hours per day.
  • Shark’s teeth are literally as hard as steel.
  • Two out of every three couples turn their heads to the right when they kiss.
  • Talk about a rush! Kissing releases the same neurotransmitters in our brains as parachuting, bungee jumping, and running.

Quirky Quotes:

“I have wondered at times what the Ten Commandments would have looked like if Moses had run them through the U.S. Congress.”   ~ Ronald Reagan

Opportunity may knock once, but temptation bangs on your front door forever.

Originality is a by product of sincerity.  – Marianne Moore

L is for Lettuce and Love!

Lettuce is an annual plant of the aster or sunflower family.  It is most often grown as a leaf vegetable.

lettuce

As you know Lettuce is most often used for salads, sandwiches and wraps. Lettuce is a good source of vitamin A and potassium, as well as a minor source for several other vitamins and nutrients. Some people will use Lettuce to help curb munchies by eating extra lettuce while on a diet plan.  Not quite sure if that’s a good idea but I’m sure it won’t hurt to eat extra lettuce.

As a child we often used lettuce to feed the rabbits.

As an adult I more than appreciate Lettuce; I Love Lettuce. My favorites are Iceberg and Romaine.

‘Love’ a many splendored word!!!!!!!

To live a life in Love Should not be rare.

Here is a poem with my take on love actually it’s my perspective from abuse to seeing onself through the eyes of God and self acceptance with a stronger ability to love.

love
is who i am
born to love
to give
born to live
in glory, honor
esteem and vitality,
fearfully
and wonderfully
made am i
this is the
portabellow of love

but then the giver
of earthly life
started with you
in love,
slowly
tainted the vision
of love i knew
became
sum of all tears

realization
true love and fragrance
of acceptance
nutured by god above
giver of purest love,
identity
not based on
your neglect
but on the giver
of life in me
select not
entrust my identity
with you
but creator
has made me perfect
to sit in heavenly places,

essence
with a grateful heart
I am secure
love who i am
now I can
love
you…

Love

Keep Loving!

Quotes I am pondering Today!

The hunger for love is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread.

– Mother Teresa

Though our feelings come and go, God’s love for us does not.

– C. S. Lewis

My heart is, and always will be, yours. – Sense and Sensibility

Thanks for reading my bLoG!

Today could you take the time to watch this video?

If you give a little love, you can get a little love of your own.  It tells the truth of kindness simply.

Not complicated.

Thanks for watching!

K is for Kiwi and Kindness!

The kiwifruit or kiwi is the edible berry of a woody vine in the genus Actinidia. Thanks Wikipedia.

The most common kiwifruit is oval, about the size of a large hen’s egg. It has a fibrous greenish-brown skin and bright green with rows of tiny, black, edible seeds.

Kiwifruit is a rich source of vitamin C and vitamin K, and a good source of dietary fiber and vitamin E.

Kiwi is Kind to your body. A study performed at the University of Oslo in Norway reported that consuming two to three kiwifruit daily for 28 days significantly potentially reducing the risk of blood clots.

Kind.  I like that word.  Simply,  Kindness is the act or the state of being kind, being marked by good and charitable behavior, pleasant disposition, and concern for others.

We are encouraged always to be kind and compassionate to one another.

Many of us on occasion show kindness to our friends and family– But one of the reasons we are kind to them is because we want them to be kind to us. It’s kinda like the theory of Christmas gift giving. Sometimes we give Christmas gifts to others because they give Christmas gifts to us. Wikipedia calls it reciprocal giving. There’s nothing wrong with showing kindness to others because they are kind to you, but God’s kind of love and kindness goes further than that. God encourages us to love your neighbor as yourself.  Well you could ask as so many have in the past;  “Who is my neighbor?” The answer as always is in the parable of  the Good SamaritanTo show kindness to those who can’t repay us.  I believe each of you on occasion have had cause to show kindness to someone who could not repay you and you followed through. Kudos to you for that and God Bless!

Kindness, Love & Sacrifice!

The longer I live the more I learn. One of the things I have learned is these Three Words ‘kindness, love and sacrifice’ go together.

Kindness is truest when you don’t expect anything in return. It is precisely the most wonderful time of the year, perfect time of day when you are kind to someone who can do absolutely nothing in return nor will ever be able to repay you.

Sometimes People will be kind, IF, it doesn’t cost them anything. Kindness has a parallel with Love.

Real Love is a willingness to sacrifice. Sacrifice is giving the bigger piece, better half, bestest of anything to another when you really want it yourself.

John Garmo said, A sacrifice is a gift of the essence or the product of our lives. It may be a gift of our time, a gift of our talent, or a gift of our treasure. Whatever shape it takes, it is a sacrifice given with no regard for a return on the investment.

I am not sure who said it but the quote says; Don’t be yourself – be someone a little nicer – God won’t ask how much overtime you worked, but will ask if you worked overtime for your family and loved ones.

Tuesdays is my day for babysitting grandbaby #3- Baby Emma.  I wanted to make it an extra special day for everyone.  My daughter Donna was feeling a little down and needed to have a change of scenery. I said, if you come visit while I am babysitting Baby Emma then I will cook you a turkey. Dinner with some of the trimmings.  I also said to my daughter Joanne who was at work, the mom of Baby Emma, that I was cooking a Turkey Dinner.  She didn’t realize I was at her house already she thought I was cooking the turkey at my house before I came to her home.   She said that sounds so good; I wish I could have some.  I said you will I am cooking it at your house now.  She was so excited.  I don’t have money, I don’t have things, I don’t have worldly values but I did have a turkey.

Kindness, Love & Sacrifice; These things I aspire to every day; many days I fall flat on my face but I pick myself up and start again. God Bless You!

Quotes I am Pondering Today!

“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.”

– Mother Teresa

Kindness
is more important than wisdom
and the recognition
of this
is the beginning of wisdom.

Theodore Isaac Rubin

Constant kindness can accomplish much. As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate

– Albert Schweitzer

A little thought and a little kindness are often worth more than a great deal of money.

John Ruskin

Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.

Mark Twain

Here is a video ‘Kindness’ written and performed by my daughter Deana Hoyles.

Here is a video to remind us of those who aren’t receiving Kindness. Let’s take action first by prayer.  I would like to see Child Abuse obliterated in our generation.

‘Concrete Angel’ by Martina McBride!

“I hate endings. Just detest them. Beginnings are definitely the most exciting, middles are perplexing and endings are a disaster. . . . The temptation towards resolution, towards wrapping up the package, seems to me a terrible trap. Why not be more honest with the moment? The most authentic endings are the ones which are already revolving towards another beginning. That’s genius.” ― Sam Shepard
